Overview
A user’s access to parts of Activate varies according to the user’s role(s). Below, we’ll examine the different roles and permissions a Activate user can have.
Roles
Team member: A user who is part of the organization that subscribes to Activate. The org’s admin has authorized this user to use Activate.
Non-team member: A user who belongs to an external organization. Someone at the org which subscribes to Activate has invited the non-team member to collaborate.
Admin: A team member who is authorized to manage user accounts and edit the organization’s Activate profile and settings.
Deal member: The user has a connection to a specific deal. Both team and non-team members can become deal members. A user becomes a deal member on a deal-by-deal basis.
Task member: The user has a connection to a specific task. Both team and non-team members can become task members. A user becomes a task member on a task-by-task basis.
Sponsorship user: A team member of an organization that uses KORE Sponsorship in addition to Activate, even if the individual doesn’t use KORE Sponsorship.
Permissions
This table shows the default permissions for each type of user. Some of these Activate features may be unavailable depending on an org’s needs and subscription.

Restrictions on KORE Sponsorship users
KORE Sponsorship offers more powerful and complex features for creating deals and managing assets. Activate automatically imports your deals and assets, allowing you to use Activate's user-friendly fulfillment features without giving up the power of KORE Sponsorship. Thus, you continue to manage deals and assets using KORE Sponsorship instead of Activate.
Restrictions on non-team members
Deals: A non-team member can only view deals that they are a deal member of. Non-team members cannot see any other deals in Activate.
Assets: Non-team members can view a deal’s assets only if an admin user enables “Show deal asset tab for external users”) in system settings.
Tasks: A non-team member can only access tasks that they are a task member of. They cannot see other tasks for that deal despite being a deal member. They can create new tasks for the deal if they are a deal member.
Files: A non-team member can only access files that (a) they uploaded themselves, or (b) are attached to a task that they are a task member of.
