Overview
Each asset within a deal can have an optional status label. The status field is typically used to track delivery using the three default labels: Not Started, In Progress, and Completed.
You can create additional status labels if your organization needs them. You can also change the names of the default labels, or even remove them entirely. Access this feature by opening Setup > System Configurations > Deals > Deal Asset Statuses.
Create a new status
After opening the Deal Asset Statuses section, click the + (plus) button to add a new status. This will add a text field to the top of the list. Type in the status you wish to add, then use the picker to choose a color for the label. Click the ✓ (check mark) to save the new status or the red X to cancel.
The status name cannot:
- contain any special characters,
- contain more than 40 characters, or
- duplicate another status (the comparison is not case-sensitive).
Once saved, the new status label will be available to all users. You can update an asset's status from the Deal > Assets view by clicking the existing label, or in the Deal Assets edit window by choosing from the list.
Edit a status
To change the name of a status, click the pencil icon to edit it. This will provide a text entry box just like when you add a status. Click the ✓ (check mark) to save the change, or the red X to cancel. All assets that had the original status will immediately reflect the new name.
Delete a status
To delete a status, click the trash icon. If any assets currently have this status, you will be warned that the status will be removed from those assets. (That is, they will revert to a blank status field.) This action cannot be undone after you confirm the deletion.
