Overview
An inventory package is a special inventory item which bundles together a set of "normal" inventory items. This allows you to incorporate the items into deals much more efficiently than adding them one by one. The package also has its own rate card, giving you the option of selling the package at a discount compared to the rates for each individual component.
Packages are most useful when the same set of inventory items will be sold multiple times. For example, a "Concourse Sponsor" package could include a booth, fixed signage, a 15 second announcement over the PA, and so on. You could then sell this package to multiple sponsors.
Create a package and rate card
Since a package is a special inventory item, you create it the same way as any other inventory item. In the Advanced section, tick the "Is Package" box. You must select a Product for the package, but this will not restrict the items you can add to the package later. Click Save when finished.
Like any other inventory item, the package must have a rate card before you can add it to a deal. The rate card is also required before adding items into the package. View the new item you created and click the Create New Rate Card button.
Fill out the rate card details, then click Save. When you sell this package in the future, each component's rate will automatically be discounted (prorated) evenly if the total would exceed the package's rate. If any of the components have the "Do Not Prorate" option ticked, the discount calculation will exclude those items.
Add or remove package items
Once you've created a rate card, the "Package Components" section becomes available. Click Create New Package Component.
This opens the Configure Package window. Use the filters to find inventory items, then click Add. You can add as many items to the package as you'd like.
If an inventory item has more than one available rate card, click Select to choose which one(s) to add. Likewise, use Select and Remove to delete any items added by mistake.
In the bottom section, you can Select items to Remove. To change the quantity, click Edit.
Close the window when finished—the system automatically saves your changes. If you return to the package's rate card and refresh the page, the new components will be listed.
